Ahmed Yousry’s predominant focus in his painting has always been predicated on his ability to concentrate on establishing through his preferred medium of acrylic paints and inks on cardboard, his captivating visions of urban dwellings and superorganisms which have been the constant underpinning of his compositional style. Yousry’s art also draws upon his discontent with the philosophical realities and societal norms of the present era, and he determinedly explores the material control and the lack of the human substance he sees in the world around us. His style is actually a meditative amalgamation of diverse methods of expression in a metaphysical manner based on the practice of improvisation, which he has always gravitated to while painting.

Yousry’s art is in many ways the manifestation of his own personal quest to address his most deep-seated mental frustrations, equivocations, and quandaries which he accomplishes through his intensely arranged and rearranged lines, shapes and enigmatic structural masses, the inalienable raison d'etre for his painting. Yousry is constantly refining and innovating his technique, in order to obtain a deeper experience not only for the viewer but also in terms of his own therapeutic journey in which art is his figurative psychologist, as he seeks to find and explore ever more appropriate styles of composition for his own self-development and also to ignite both curiosity and engagement in the mind’s eye of the viewer.
